Soriano gives Cubs a list of 8 teams for trade

The Yankees are supposively interested and would be willing to pick 10 million of the remaining 36. We will see what happens.
But they're not budging with giving up a prospect theo wants.......so its looking bleak.....
Would definitely be nice to see the rebuilding Cubs team with Soriano gone, running at around the 20% percentile instead, without its best run producer.

That should set us back a year or two more. That would be great news in trying to build this dynasty and Soriano could have a shot at playing on a winner.

Wonder what we could possibly get from the Yankees worth throwing 26 million down the drain for.

Hey !!!!! Where's Dominic Brown ?????

Depends on what the Cubs plan to do with the money saved. I personally think Robinson Cano has to be on the Cubs radar next year. The 10 million would def. help towards an offer for him. Ricketts has said that he is not going to go back to having a monster payroll. People predict the Cubs will have about a 130 million dollar payroll when they are competitive. They are in prime position to go after Cano. You add Robinson Cano to this lineup. The lineup instantly becomes dangerous.

Soriano had a great year, but it would be hard for him to repeat at his age. Remember, he still has bad knees. That did not go away. He just was able to get through last season without major injury. I have no problem with trading Soriano for the right prospects. Seems Theo is not just giving away Soriano. He has had offers, but he knows what he wants for him. He is sticking to it. Soriano will not be traded for nothing.

Its will cost the Rickett's 23 to 25 million a season to get Cano,my guess is Cano to the Dodgers for 6 years at 150 to 160 million beating out the Yankees 6 year 130 million dollar offer. If the Cubs are going to throw out money,it should be for starting pitching since Samardzija will be the only known name at seasons end.
