I would've taken cooper or minter, cooper because we're going to zone blocking scheme and minter because after the first round value really drops at that position, 2nd round is supposed to be for safeties and WR's.

Lets hope Patterson could win us a Super Bowl, because he certainly wouldn't be re-signing. That's 100% . If your been annoyed with Wallace, you'd really hate Patterson when it comes to contract talk.

I was just about to ask that Warrior. I certainly would not complain with Patterson, but I think they could really use Conner Vernon because he looks like he will develop into a team leader and captain.

We need playmakers on offence and defence this year and with the pass rushers off the board Patterson was the right choice IMO. Elam I really like but not at 17. Cooper I think people are overhyping him because of his athleticism and wouldn't pick him at 17.

Cooper I think people are overhyping him because of his athleticism and wouldn't pick him at 17. Plus, the need for guard actually isn't as big as it is at WR. The first round should be reserved for difference makers - Colbert has been very good at picking difference makers since being here. Cooper can be that, sure, but so can Patterson. |

I was against the Santonio Holmes pick too.
Yeah, but he caught the game winner in the corner of the end zone for the SB win? And was the MVP of the SB. So did the Steelers really lose out on him? I would say no, they didn't. Sometimes it's the Steelers not willing to pay what a player is worth also.....at any position. WR seems to their big problem and has been for years now. Starting with Burress. Who also played well for the Giants. And shooting youself by accident is not exactly a major offense in my book. Even though he was sent to prison, I think any major sports athlete has to be ready to protect themselves nowadays. I think it's one of the stupidest laws on the books. I don't think theres any question the Steelers have major issues this year. Especially, if you believe all of what the media says. It really is like a rebuilding year. They are over the cap and have to relpace and cut alot of players. And some of the good ones are 1 year older. They HAVE to have good drafts to compete. CUP4PENS |

Looks like we got mixed revies on Patterson. I saw him play early and mid season, he was dyanmic. He will improve ST and add depth to WR. Finding another Jerry RIce ain't happening, all these WR's are divas, minus Fitz and Megatron. When I thought about it, why did the Steelers suck the second half? Ben getting hurt and no explosion on the offense. DeCastro will be better now healthy, slide Beachum over to LG, I think Cooper was a luxury pick and Patterson would help the team more. After watching the Michelin Man Warmack plod down the 40 yard dash, bb is right, Cooper will probably be the better pro. Don't forget Warmack was next to Kujo, FLuker, Jones, etc.., that 'bama line was awesome, but maybe it was because they were all good NFL caliber OL playing in the NCAA, think about it.
At some point RB is on the table, I have to see how the draft flows. LB is something I might look into, and TE if he is BPA. I think the Steelers are good on the OL, 4 of their projected starters are first or second rounders. I also will see how the CB's come off the board, not sure what is going on with the Keenan Lewis situation, have not followed it as closely as I would have liked. And I think Wallace is toast, gone, see ya, but Mendenhall I don't know if the open market will serve him well, he may be back, but I am not counting on it. That fumble in the SuperBowl really ticked me off, more or less cost us the game, was the huge turning point, along with the Raji pick. |

I wouldn't pass up a chance to solidify the o-line. I don't know if Gilbert is athletic enough for zone blocking, if our buddy Armstead is there in the 3rd when you pick snatch him up, I'm not just basing this on his 40 time he had a good shrine game, and was very fluid in the skills part of the combine.
