Live from Spring Training

Fun food items for fatties like me ( I passed, going the the Dodger Dog instead ), nachos served in full sized plastic batting helmets.


Zach Stewart is pitching for the Sox now.  I watched a lot of this pen session from just above the bullpen.  He looked sharp then, and is so now, mowing down the first 2 Dodgers he faced in short order.  

There go 3 more nacho helmets.    Time to drag the infield.  Good thing no YMCA, like in NY.  The Dodgers went with AC/DC'd Thunderstuck instead.  Mark Lowe in to pitch for the Dodgers now, leaving only A Gione & Hanley as starts remaining.


Dewayne Wise is in the game for the Sox now.   MERCY!  Glad I don't have to listed to Hawk Harrelson today.  Lowe pitchers like he has arm problems, or like he is going to have them soon.  Almost snother Sox homer, this time by Angel Sanchez.  Only the wind saved us that time.


I am kind of surprised that the yard only ended up being 1/2 full today.  Home opener.  Maybe tomorrow when it will be the Sox turn, as there are a lot of snow birds here (midwest folks who spend the winter here in AZ to avoid the cold).

Bummer of a name for the Sox backup catcher.  I wonder how much grief he takes for being Josh Phegley?


We are through 5 1/2.  5-0 Sox.  The Sox are down to Alexi & A Rios from their starting lineup.  With all that is going on, I must say I have noticed a good bit of "local talent".  The sun has done good things for some of the young ladies here in AZ.  What do I care that in 20-30 years they will look like shrunken apple head dolls?  l.o.l


Why do the Dodgers still employ Juan Uribe?  Warning track power for him just now.  If anyone watches the T.V Show Auction hunters, I think I just saw the big guy from that show, Ton Jones here today.  Just walked by.  Just heckeld Hanley for a looking K.   "We are NOT paying you for that".   Nick Punto up now.  Did'nt know we had him. And, now tghqt I do, just that much less use for Uribe.


It is rather cold in AZ for the rest of this week I understand.  If you are coming, just know that, as I have been in 100 degrees here in spring in years back.  Layer up!     

Coming to you today from Surprize, AZ.  Royals vs. Rangers.  Matt Harrison is NOT sharp today.  8 batters, 6 hits, 4 runs, only 2 out in 1st.  Nice ballpark.  Only 10 years old.  Somebody forgot to check the schedule, as it is not supposed to be only 60 degers & hella windy abd cold in AZ.  Burr

Luis Mendoza going today for KC.  If all his pitches are 89 mph, then the gun here is broken, as all Haririsons pitches seemed 89. Could reallbe, in the 1st start of spring.
