One thing I've warmed up to about Mario and Burkle is that they've let the rest of the league have a chance for the last 3 and a half years or so.

Speaking of crap you don't want to eat (or at least pay for) I read about fish fraud in the Trib last Thursday.

In contrast, 20 percent of fish sold at other types of restaurants and 24 percent of the seafood sold at grocery stores was mislabeled.

"The U.S. imports about 25 million pounds of a Vietnamese catfish called basa (also called pangasius) every year. When's the last time you saw that on a menu?"

I guess Salmon and a few other distinct common species of fish were pretty reliable when it came to labeling.   It's pretty bad everywhere.

Hawks have now gone 25 straight regular games without a regulation loss.  And that leaves them 11 (yes ELEVEN) games short of the Flyers mark in 1979-1980.  Now THAT is an amazing feat.

Isn't that sad though?  The truth is going 18 to start the season without a regulation loss and only 3 losses in extra time is awesome but you're right, anything short of at least a Stanley Cup appearance and people will say it doesn't mean anything.  I've never believed in the "only thing that matters is championships".   Call me nuts but I think a gruelling 82 game season means something.  As a matter of fact the team that wins the championship in my mind isn't always the best team in that sport that season, sometimes a championship is won by a team that got hot at the right time.

I'll take a team that's consistent year in and year out who occasionally has great success in the playoffs over a team that struggles most of the time and every 10 years makes a run in the post season.  One thing the Wings have done for a long long time is entertain me.   Win or lose in the playoffs nobody can take that away from us.... and nobody can take a crazy unbeaten run like the Hawks are on away from Hawks fans.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the guy at all.  I like nothing about him.  But I hope to God one day I'll be blessed with "no talent" too because that's some pretty good coin big fella is raking in.
