Not joking at all.  Again, Palmer got a 1st AND 2nd round pick, and before you start placing all of them blame on the Raiders, starting QBs *typically* command a 1st round pick or better.  Alex is 27 and he was amongst the top rated QBs in the NFL over the last 1.5 years....a 2nd rounder is decent; fair at BEST.  

u are the only one in the world that thinks that.  2 2nd rounders and 9.5 million is alot for a back up QB.  Take it every day of the week.  I look at this as incomplete because who knows what they do after this trade.  Im happy staying where we are but if they trade like both 2nd rounders to move back into the 1st and have 2 1st rd picks would be big.  Or we turn around and trade this pick for revis.  

This was a steal for the 49ers.  One of the best deals by the 49ers in a long time.  everyone on this board thought 3-4th rd pick not 2 2nd rd picks.

Typically? You do know what that means, right? Aside from Palmer, only other one I can think of is Jay Cutler and that was a completely different situation entirely. Most of the guys that get traded are either a) backups or b) got replaced by their backups. Cutler just wanted out because he didn't like Josh McDaniels.

Matt Schaub (to HOU) - 2 second round picks
Brett Favre (to NYJ) - 1 fourth round pick
Donovan McNabb (to WAS) - A second and a 4th
Matt Cassel (to KC) - a second round pick (although KC got Vrabel as well)
Kevin Kolb (to AZ) - a second round pick and Rodgers-Cromartie
Drew Brees (to NO) - Nothing because the idiot Chargers let him walk

Umm...The guy who usually helps decide on all personel decisions (Al Davis) was on his deathbead and the Raiders only hope of making the playoffs that season was a mid-season trade for Palmer. They didn't stand ANY chance with Kyle Boller and no one else was available.

Speaking of Palmer though, if the Raiders release him, my guess is he heads to Arizona.
