traditionally, every NFC division except the NFC east has a real bottom feeder, meaning a team year in and year out goes around 4-12 each year, the only exception for the NFC east was this year with the Eagles, but even last year they went 8-8.Before last season Skins went 5-11, 6-10, and 4-12. That says "bottom-feeder" to me.

So wait, are we faulting the AFC North, who've had five championship game appearances, 3 superbowl appearances, with two superbowl wins, because of the Browns and only the Browns?
Correct me if I'm wrong (going off memory) but isn't the AFC North the only division to send at least 2 teams to the playoffs over the last five seasons also? Historically, no the NFC East is not overrated. Right now and recently, yeah they are a little overrated if they are being called the best/toughest division still. |

Right now and recently, yeah they are a little overrated if they are being called the best/toughest division still.Thats the point.............no one really saying that the NFC east is the best/toughest division. Competitive?? Yes........but dont get it twisted cuz the nfc east is definitely not the worst. Only a few divisions are better overall!! |

Thats the point.............no one really saying that the NFC east is the best/toughest division. Competitive?? YesWhat makes them the most competitive? I'm not being smart, I'm asking? Are they sending the most teams to the playoffs year in and year out? Does the East have a better record as a division compared to other divisions? Or is it just because all teams stay near each other record wise? Honestly, just because a division doesn't have one clear dominant team doesn't make them competitive. For instance, the 2010 NFC West was technically competitive but it's because they all sucked almost evenly. Now I'm not saying the East sucked, but the "competitive" thing has been said about them for years and I'm curious as to what makes the NFC East competitve that can't be said for most divisions? The NFC South hasn't had a team win the division twice in a row since the realignment. They had a period of time where the last place team ended up winning the division the following year. They'd get my vote for most competitive division easily. |

It should also be noted I guess the team formerly know as the Cleveland Browns just won a super bowl. This current Browns team carries a name that's been around for decades, but the reality is they are a expansion team. But trying to knock a division based on one franchise is ridiculous.

Again I’m not saying the nfc east is the best right now, but traditionally they are the best. The afc north right now is tough, but Cinn and Cleve have been garbage forever and those teams seemed to be ok with that forever. You can look at the rest of the divisions besides the nfc east and see the same story. The nfc east more than any other division doesn’t see their teams suck forever. I’d say it’s because they use all their resources and their fans aren’t used to putting up with garbage for 10+ years.
Name me the division top to bottom that ranks with the nfc east over the last 10 or 20 years?

Name me the division top to bottom that ranks with the nfc east over the last 10 or 20 years? We going by tougher or more competitive over the last 10 years? This goes back to the division realignment so it's perfect Tougher - AFC North and probably NFC North Competitive - NFC South without question for the reasons I previously stated. |

NFC south in my view is not a good example of being competitive you typically have one really good team the Saints, a good team in the Falcons and the other two can't even go 8-8 hardly any year, as for the best now I go with afc north due to the last two years of Cincy playing well, but before that in that division you had two real cellar dweller teams them and the Browns

Tougher - AFC North and probably NFC North AFC - Browns and Bengals need I say more nfc north - Lions finally made the playoffs after how many years, the other 3, while not as good traditionally as the east, definitetly stay competitive NFC south - You're saying TB, Car. Atl and the Saints have a tradition of winning |

What makes them the most competitive? I'm not being smart, I'm asking?I never said the NFC east was the most competitive. I said the division was very competitive with only a few divisions being better than the east overall. Because teams in the east rarely go 5-1 or 6-0 in division games. Shoot the skins could be 1-11 while the Cowboys are undefeated and people wont be shocked to see the skins pull an upset. Dont read too much in what I'm saying because I already claimed that the NFC East isnt the best right now and most analyst, fans and experts would agree with that assessment!! |

Yea gopats, whoever feels the NFC east is the worst is really nuts for even claiming that. Didnt the east send 3 teams in the playoffs in 2006 and 2007 respectfully??? And another 2 in 2009?? Its just that these last few years the division has dipped with only sending one team while another missed out on the playoffs with a rare 10-6 record back in 2010!! |

Also the fact that the Bengals can't sweep the Browns is another indication that they seem overrated, I know division games are supposed to be tough but you're talking about the browns, in my view, the worst team the last twenty so years and, in my opinion, trend is continuing with weeden as qb, am surprised last year they didn't go 1-15

If the NFL does what la liga and premier league does in soccer, which delegates bad teams out of their top league, Cincy and cleveland would have been out of the league a long time ago

"in my view, the worst team the last twenty so years and, in my opinion,"..............ah what? You do realize the Browns moved to Baltimore within the last 20 years right? You also must realize the Browns also didn't even play football for like 4 or 5 years during that span right? You also realize that the Browns had to reform from the ground up after the old Browns skipped town right? Basically they are now a expansion team and that takes time to build. Other than the Giants winning two bowls recently the NFC E. has been pretty pedestrian when compared to the AFC N.

Okay axe, but the point is Redskins won their division this yearWell, which is it -- are we going by THIS year or are we factoring in past years? I mean, you mention Arizona as being a bottom-feeder, but didn't they go to the Super Bowl fairly recently? |

Axe I don't think one can say a division is the best based on only one yearFine. Last THREE years NFC East is 6 games under .500. Four other divisions have posted better marks in that time. |
