Tough call for me. I’m a fiscal conservative but am pretty liberal when it comes to social issues. I don't care who you marry or what you call it. Who you sleep with or how, as long as it is consensual and no women/children are hurt in the process. If you want to serve your country while wearing garters under your fatigues, I appreciate your service. What you do with your body is your business although imo late term/partial birth abortion is some seriously heinous shijt and a line needs to be drawn somewhere.

Fiscally I believe in a hand-up not a hand-out and if you are too young, too old or too infirm to take care of yourself I have no problem contributing to your cause. If you are too lazy or too content to take without any intention of giving back, then go **** yourself. I really don't mind paying taxes, just can't stand the way my money is pizzed away.

I agree with this for the most part.  With the exception of, I dont mind paying taxes...once.  Or even sales tax.  But the fact that every time I go to use a public service I still have to pay a la cart, for something that "my taxes paid for" drives me nuts.  You tell me I have to get my car inspected, and tagged, and registered.  OK FINE.... whay do I have to pay $55 for inspection,  $20 for tags, and $300 for registration?  When does that stop?  We decided everyone needs  a fire extinguisher in their house, and obtw you can only buy them from the state.  Your property taxes pay for schools and roads, ok swell....then why do I have to stop, wait and pay this $5 toll?  Paying %25 of my yearly income to state and federal....ok fine here ya go. Betterment of society and all that.... but dont charge after the landfill is already built with public dollars.

yeah... I lose about 25% of what i make to federal and state taxes too.  Sure, i don't make as much as you do total and don't pay a total amount you do, but I lose close to an equal amount of what i make percentage wise.  I also have to register my vehicle and what not.  You got me on the property tax, I don't pay that yet.  But I would like to buy a house in the next 5 years.  And any of tha other stuff (toll booth, EZ pay, landfill fees, etc) I would and have payed for as well.  So what were you saying?

I have been around since the very first landfill was built in these here United of States.  And not one have I ever heard that use of a landfill was "already paid for" by other taxes.  Just like toll roads.  Hello, nitwit, they were built using bonds that were to be paid for by the tolls ... Hells yeah!  If I still smoked, a pack would have been about $4.15 with taxes.  

If you inject your own smokes you can get the price down to about 11 dollars a carton.

I have never understood the conservative, " Wah, Wah, I pay a higher percentage than poor people and I don't like it." response. That's the price of being allowed to live in a country where you receive the opportunity to make so much in the first place. If you don't like it, go somewhere else and see if your net income increases or decreases. I don't know if I'm a 1%er or not, but if not I'm close, and speaking as a Canadian who immigrated I sure as hell have a lot more here than I did in Canada. I actually hope taxes continue to rise, with those making the most paying a progressive rate, so the budget comes in alignment. The $200 per paychecque I lost at the start of the year is too little to actually pay for reasonable government. Now if we can just take the sequester and multiply by 4 in addition, we might fix the country. I'd still like to grind Lindsay Lohan's gears.
