think many QBs could have won the Seattle superbowl (Tim Tebow included) but not many could have done what he did in the three games prior

It's all about leverage, and Flacco had it big-time. No other available QB or QB coming out of the draft can compare with Flacco. Had he gone on the open market, he would have commanded a similar deal. The Ravens knew they had to step up and give him that huge deal. I'm sure they aren't feeling too bad with that shiny Lombardi trophy in the cabinet. Most teams would love to wait to pay a guy huge money if and only if he plays great and brings home a title. The Ravens got to wait and Flacco delivered on his end. Everyone is happy.

sonny i still think ne got cocky, years have past and they still have not replaced seymour and yes a sam may have pulled a occasional boner but he sure made up for it with BIG plays. i know all to well bout brady, been a mich season tix holder fro quite some time. imho ne squandered 1 if not 2 sb and furthermore without major intervention thik there time has passed.

Flacco has been proving his worth since he came into the league.  The Ravens not only paid for what he's accomplished, but they paid for what he will become. He is just getting started - he's just entering his prime, and he has displayed tons of potential: a very strong and accurate arm, the ability to spread it around, come from behind wins, one of the prettiest deep balls in the league, and he doesn't throw many INTs.  He's a smart QB that is starting to hit his stride.  Everything he has shown up to now would indicate the Ravens made a good decision in signing him.

Our defense the first half of the year wasn't that good. Pretty bad. Teams were running all over us at will. Then we had a ton of injuries. Third stringers had to step up. Yet we overcame. Joe played great. He had one autrocious game against the Texans. Still unsure about that one. But he plays like Montana at home for some reason. And he plays great on the road in the playoffs. Can't argue with the facts. He did carry this team the first half of the year. He has the ablility, with some help, to get us there. He should have the credit of getting us to the SB year before last as well, but dufus dropped the ball. Three AFC Championship games, One winning SB, better than Matt Ryan, more accomplished than 80% of the rest of the qb's in the league. Can't argue with the facts.
