NFL, again am not necessarily disagreeing with you, but a player is awarded a good prize such as the MVP for that year, yes, it is not the same as the Super bowl ring but having great stats in a year can win the MVP in a given year. - Which just goes to affirm the reasoning behind my own definitions of "best" and "greatest". The person winning a season MVP but not a SB, is clearly the BEST at style for the year, but ultimately failed in the reason for the season, winning the SB, so it does not add to their GREATNESS.
