Packers don't need Finley.  Does he draw the double team?  Make great blocks for the run game?  Catch everything in his direction?  Have support from his QB?

I believe Woodson is speculating that a team like the Redskins who overpay for lots of players might be inclined to take Finley for more than his worth.

Funny how TJ Lang went off and ran his mouth all over twitter yesturday.  He ran it so much that it was talked about in USA Today.  But no one on here, or Packer Nation has a problem with it.  If it was Finley doing that however, people would be say shut up " you damn a$$ and just do your job."  Packer fans crack me up, cannot hold everyone to the same ridicule and standards.

Was what Lang did anything close to Finley?
Lang does not have the history of talking about himself...or money...or so on.
And he was joking around (which he is known to do on Twitter...as does Sitton and really several of the O line). 

Yeah you are right, it's ok to run his mouth because it was a joke. Packers gave up 51 sacks last year which I believe is second most in the NFL not to mention being ranked 20th in the NFL for rushing.  Maybe if the o-line would spend more time learning how to block and less time "joking around" they would be better.  Do not be such a hypocite.

If Finley made a joke like that, I would be fine with it.
Its when Finley starts talking about how great he is or what he is going to do...when he has not lived up to the hype at all is when I have a problem.  He is not a team player...or at least does not talk like one.
The Oline typically jokes together and get along as teammates.
And their twitter time has little to nothing to do with their production...nor does their production have to do with this conversation.
Oh, and Lang was quite solid as a guard (sucks as a tackle though).

Yes, they should spend every offseason moment working on their blocking skills. If making a jest or two on Twitter on a rare occassion is bad, then Finley with his mouthing off is hurting his skills 20x more than any other player on the team.

Lang and Sitton never say they are going to break records or be an all-pro or whatever Finley pukes out of his mouth on a regular basis. I would love it if Finley could learn how to joke around rather than making boasts he never backs up, and comments detrimental to the organization.

If you can't see the difference between Finley's frequent poisonous comments, and what other Packers post, it is sad. I think you are just looking for reasons to talk trash about Packer players and/or fans.

Actually no I am not, just telling homer Packer fans to hold all of the players to same standards.  Lang posted a picture of his Super Bowl Ring that GB won over two years ago after Lions fans were mouthing off. You do not think that is boastful? Oh and lets not forget about those tweets that he let go after the fail marry this year,after McCarthy took the high road and told everyone not to talk about it to the media, talk about detrimental to the organization (your words).  You are the same guy objectiveobsvr that is angry GB did not make a play for Marshawn Lynch, a guy with all kinds of baggage and character issuses, but here you sit riding Finley like he is a 10cent you know....Hypocritical.  

Considering several Lions fans have commented to him that they thought it was funny...no I don't think it was boastful on a personal level.  More on the team level (the difference you don't seem to grasp).

Finley does need to control his mouth...and plenty of people have said so and want him gone because of it because the production is not there...so there is nothing hypocritical about it.

I think fans are doing this. Finley is a regular tool, and no other Packers player comes close to his shenanigans in the public. If Lang or any other player starts acting like a doosh, fans will call them out.

I believe Lynch has been a model teammate in Seattle. If he starts acting like a doosh, fans will note it with gusto. I don't generally visit the Seattle boards, but I haven't seen a story on Lynch in the media saying he is displaying character issues.

Comments here are typically based on actions, and Finley has been a tool for several years now. So everything he does is amplified because of his track record. He brought it upon himself. Is this unfair? Should a guy who is generally a model citizen be equally chastised if he tweets in jest from time to time? You decide. I just want him to back up his boasts if he is going to boast, and I want him to stop complaining if he doesn't get as many targets as he would like.

If it were $8.2 mil against the Packers cap, I would agree. It's $5.2 mil against the cap. Some of that money was front-loaded to the cap. Makes some sense to keep him when you look at it that way. If he finally has his head right, he could have his best year ever. With Jennings gone, Finley will be a bigger part of the offense. He will be asked to own the middle of the field and draw defenders to open up the deep pass into single coverage. Maybe just wishful thinking, but I have one more chance left in me.
