35 here, so you are older then me.

I've been to no Bruins game this year, first time in about 10 years I have not been to a game, and most years I went to around 5-10 games, and all the playoff games I could go to.  But I moved away from Boston, so it's harder now.

If the Bruins do make a trade I hope they don't get a rent a player, I hope it's a long term improvement.

Just so everyone knows, anyone is welcome here!

Anything about the Bruins is cool. Trade rumors, player debates, or just random thoughts are what it's all about. And everyone is entitled to their own opinion here.

All you have to do is be a die hard Bruins fan!

Nice lead indead. Now they just need to finish up the 3rd strong. I don't know what it is about playing on the road. I wish they would play this way at home.

And Gibber? Why not a Leafs fan living in Toronto? Doesn't everyone in Toronto live, eat, and breathe the MapleLeafs?

someone I don't want them to trade is Lucic.  Too young and plays with heart, and that is hard to find these days.

Also just want to say Metro has been a huge surprise this year.

Just some random thoughts, need to go check that ice girls site too.

Nice win. 9 out of a possible 10 points on this road trip. Can't ask for any better than that.

Why do they always have to give you a panic attack at the end of every game though?

But all in all 8-1-1 in there last 10m games is pretty good. And it's still so close!

Great game from Auld too!

Lucic with a goal. Poor bastard has another broken nose. Love the guy though.

I know I was stressing there when Murray got that pen with 1.5 left, but we got the SH goal to seal it.  Lucic is a tough dude for 19.  I know when I was 19 I was in college at a party on a sat night drunk, not skating in the NHL learning the game.  I think he is going to be a really good player for a lot of years.  I hope wearing the Black and gold.

Man it bergeron was playing, damn that still pisses me off.

Hey Bruins, thanks for the ulcer there the last five minutes of the game.  Why do they keep doing that to us lately?

Yes, I am a Blackhawks fan too, but my true love is the Bruins.  My wife is a die-hard Blackhawks fan, and when the Hawks play the Bruins it's like world war three in our house.  It's the only time she won't root for the Bruins.  Luckily, we all share a common hatred for the Canadiens, Rangers & Red Wings so it's all good.  Same thing with the Cubs - I am a big time Cubs fan, but the baseball side of my heart belongs to the Red Sox.

I went to my first Red Sox game in the summer of 1977, and seeing Fred Lynne and the Rooster out there playing, man I knew it was nothing but the Red Sox for me.  My grandfather taught me everything there was to know about Boston baseball, and I swear I never heard that man say a swear word until the Spankees won the series that year.  It was like I heard Jesus himself use the " F " word, hahahahha!

Denis Leary said the funniest damm thing I've ever heard regarding the Red Sox a couple years before they won the first one, and that was "if the Red Sox ever win the World Series, the day after there's gonna be a rash of deaths around Boston it'll be like the plague hit - because there's a huge supply of old SOB's in Boston saying "I can't die until the Red Sox win the series!" "  That was my grandmother, she loved the Red Sox more than anyone I've ever seen... I'm sure there's plenty of you guys that can relate to this - in the living room of her house she had two framed pictures on her wall, side by side.  One was Jesus, and the other one was Ted Williams.

Why can't the Bruins just win a game easily?  That's what good teams do.  However, the way the blow the lead at the end of games makes them even more exciting.  My buddy said tonight that his heart couldn't take another overtime.  Thank you Axelson.

For all you Kessel lovers out there, Chiarelli said last night that he has no intension on trading Kessel.

But I heard from Gibber that the Bruins latest offer for Hossa was rumored to be Glen Murray, Mark Stuart and Sobatka.

I think we could all part with those guys to add someone like Hossa. Wouldn't you agree? Plus I think it's a better offer than what Montreal has been offering them. (Ryder and Streit)

This is from yesterday's ESPN Insider.

Boston <a href=/page/BOS">Bruins" src="http://images.sportsline.com/images/mcc/thirdPartyImgNotAllowed.gif" />

Bruins hold tight to their assets

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli tells the Boston Herald he's closer to making a trade, although there's still no certainty of that.

"I wouldn't characterize it as a longshot,? Chiarelli told the Herald. "I'd say that it's in between a longshot and a good chance.

"I've had a number of conversations. I haven't gotten to the stage of actual offers, and I know a lot of the other GMs haven't, either."

The Bruins are looking for a top-six forward and are reportedly in the running for Thrashers F Marian Hossa, who will likely cost a top prospect, a high draft pick and an active roster player.

"The price is high because, as I've been saying, we don't want to sacrifice the young assets who are and will be part of our foundation," Chiarelli told the Herald.

So realistically the Bruins are more likely to add someone like Flames F Alex Tanguay, Oilers C Jarret Stoll or Lightning F Vaclave Prospal.

"We don't want to lose those guys unless there's something that's a real good fit," Chiarelli told the Herald. "We're a low-scoring team and that [good fit] would be if we can find some goal scoring for now and going forward."

Great road trip for the B's, I hope they can keep the momentum going when they return home. I B's left a horrible taste in my mouth when the gave up those two goals to Carolina, but i was thrilled with the comeback against Atlanta. But that is 19 goals scored (2 credited to shootouts) over the past 5 games. And if we can stay anywhere close to the 3.8 goals per game average that they put up on this road trip we should get a decent matchup for the playoffs. And if we can get momentum in the first series who knows. I really don't think Murray is worth what they put in to him, but it was good to see him score twice last night. Now if he can just keep something to that effect up; be a better passer, have better puck control skills, and play better defense we have something going!

First of all great road trip for the Bruins 9 out of 10 points coming back to win the Florida game was huge, great effort in the other wins. Now they have figure out how to play the same way on home ice with the next 6 out 7 at the fleetcenter.

Hossa would be a great fit here but let's not trade our good young talent ( Kessel, Stuart, Krejci) for a guy who won't be here after this season, hopefully Chiarelli won't pull the trigger on some thing stupid.

Cobra thanks for the links to the trade rumors and the Bruins girls, I'll take Sam as my favorite girl. Let's go Bruins

I'm totally in agreement with you bowling. I wouldn't give up any of our young guys for Hossa unless he would agree to an extension with us. I don't want Hossa as a rental player although he would be a big help in our quest for this year. I want him as for the next 4 or 5 years. I'm thinking more about next season when we'll also have Bergeron.

From what I've been reading though it's not looking like we'll end up with him anyway. We'll probably end up with a Prospal or a Tanguay type player in which I won't be to excited about at all.

Unless we can get Hossa I wouldn't give up a whole lot for anyone else.

I'd probably be happy if they could add one good stay at home defensive defenseman that pounds people. Like Adam Foote. I see the Bruins making to many mistakes in their own end to often. A player like that would go a long way in helping out in that department. Especially in the last 3 minutes of games!!

Congratulations on a great series. You guys are well positioned for the future. Good D, good checking, tons of energy, good character. Just need one or two top line forwards and a new Goalie. You guys sure took it to us on many occasions and we only scraped by becuase of Kovalev and Price.

I don't care what anyone thinks, but I think the Bruins did it to us again, they had to lose 5-0, because it is the unwritten Bruin law to give a boost of hope with winning a few games, and then rip it all away with a 5-0 trouncing in game 7 like the series was never close to begin with.  It couldn't have been a one-goal loss.

The Bruins played way over their heads this year, and the lack of scoring talent is plain to see.

Also, losing isn't bad, but listening to CBC's man-crush on Carey Price all night was brutal.  Thomas would make a great save, and it was "OOOH and Thomas got a piece of hs glove on it"

Price gets hit by the puck... " Whooooa! And Price comes up big for the Canadiens! *quick shot of Dryden in the crowd, clapping*"

THAT drove me crazy last night.  Congrats to Canadiens, they have a good squad, but it is hard to listen to the banter.... but I guess if someone was a Canadiens fan or a Sabres fan in Boston and the Bruins won, it would be the same thing, and watching announcers on NESN.

AND Cheers to Cherry in Coaches Corner.... "WHAT? You want me to NOT be a Bruins fan? "  The best two minutes in Hockey Night in Canada. He brings up Neely a lot.  "Look at that goaltender in Oshawa... he is like a young Cam Neely."

Now I know this is a week or more old, but I just saw this on NHL.com. Also I recall the complaints about Tim Thomas getting snubbed.  This isn't to say he should or shouldn't be on the ballot, but here is a list of those Canadiens (6) on AllStar ballot.

Carey Price

Andei Markov

Mike Komisarek

Saku Koivu

Alexei Kovalev

Alex Tanguay

Some of these guys are good, but Carey Price? and Mike Komisarek?  I guess they stacked the ballots for the 100th anniversary.

Don't really understand why both price and komisarek are on there. Price has got to be one of the most overrated goalies in the game he hasn't done a thing and people want to hand him the job in montreal for the next 20 years. I thought the habs got rid of the better of they're two goalies in huet. I was at the game last night and the place was jumping from the time I walked into the garden. If the B's can do that again the next time they play the habs at home I think a lot of those Hab's fans will stay in Montreal. There were six infront of me and they were pretty fed up by the 10 minute mark of the third and left. Lucic really hates Komisarek I hope they go at it again in a week or so.

The NHL All-Star ballot is crap.  They are made way to early in the season and they base who goes on them by last season.

Half the people who do vote just vote for the "names" anyway. I remember Pavel Bure making an all star game and he hadn't really played all season because of an injury. The ballots are bogus.

If we want Tim Thomas to be an All-Star then it's up to all of us to put him on the ballot as a write in.

The All-Star ballot is crap.  They pick the starting line-ups, and it's just stupid.  Regardless of how well Sidney Crosby, or Alexander Ovechkin do, they're going to make it every time.

Not sure if you guys remember, I believe his name was Rory Fitzpatrick.  He almost made it into the starting line-up for the All-Star game because he had the website and stuff, telling everyone to vote for him.  He was like a minus 2 and had 6 points in 30 games or something.  He almost beat out Niklas Lidstrom.  You know it's bad when.....

Regardless if Tim Thomas is the "starter" in the All-Star game, the NHL I'm sure will give him a shot at it regardless.
