For the Rangers, it's likely Greinke or Hamilton, not Greinke and Hamilton

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Rangers are trying hard for Zack Greinke, as CBSSports.com colleague Jon Heyman reported Tuesday evening. They're still very involved with Josh Hamilton. They've considered other scenarios, including trying to trade for Rays pitcher James Shields.

But one scenario they don't see happening, according to sources, is a double free-agent signing of both Greinke and Hamilton.

As Heyman reported, the Greinke price tag is likely to surpass $160 million for either the Rangers or the Dodgers, who are thought to be the two finalists. Hamilton is also expected to command a contract for roughly $25 million a year.

Even with all their resources, the Rangers find it hard to imagine paying two players that much.
