Phillies' lineup gets even weaker, as Hunter Pence is hurt

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer
With Ryan Howard and Chase Utley on the shelf, the Phillies' offense has been struggling. And now they've suffered another blow. Hunter Pence is missing Monday night's game in Arizona with an injury to his left arm/shoulder (CSN Philly). He'll meet with a doctor prior to the game.

“I haven't been diagnosed,” Pence said (CSN Philly). “They told me not to move until then.”

Without Pence, the Phillies' lineup can't instill much fear in opposing pitchers. Here's how it lines up Monday night against the Diamondbacks:

1. Juan Pierre, LF
2. Placido Polanco, 3B
3. Jimmy Rollins, SS
4. Ty Wigginton, 1B
5. Shane Victorino, CF
6. Carlos Ruiz, C
7. John Mayberry, RF
8. Freddy Galvis, 2B.

Yikes.

Also, Cliff Lee was supposed to be pitching Monday night, but he's on the DL with an oblique injury. So it's Kyle Kendrick instead.
