Guggenheim group will take over the Dodgers

No matter what happens in tonight's game with the Rockies in Denver, the Dodgers will be winners on Monday. For the last time, Dodger fans have gone to bed with Frank McCourt owning the team. The group including Magic Johnson will officially take control of the team on Monday, CBSSports.com Insider Jon Heyman reports.

A bankruptcy judge approved the sale on April 13 and there were no objections to the proposed deal filed to U.S. Bankruptcy Court by the Friday deadline, so official control will be handed over today.

The Guggenheim Baseball group included not only Johnson, but also former Braves and Nationals executive Stan Kasten and Guggenheim Partners CEO Mark Walter. The group spent $2.15 billion on the team.
