D-backs, Miguel Montero expected to resume contract talks

CBSSports.com Insider Jon Heyman reports that the Diamondbacks are expected to resume contract-extension talks with All-Star catcher Miguel Montero.
The two sides had engaged in discussions during spring training but were unable to reach an agreement. Montero is believed to be seeking a deal similar to the four-year, $5-million pact to which the Tigers signed Victor Martinez in late 2010.
As the numbers go, Montero is coming off three straight quality seasons, particularly by the offensive standards of his position. As well, the recent run on catchers and Montero's pending free-agent status would seem to give him a substantial degree of leverage.
