Video: Minor leaguer goes airborne for fantastic catch
Louisville Bats outfielder Kristopher Negron has earned the nickname "Spiderman," but on this play from Monday, he looks more like Superman.
Check it out:
What makes it even more impressive is that Negron has played more shortstop than any other position in his seven-year minor-league career. For the Reds' Triple-A affiliate this season, he's played 18 games in center, 17 at shortstop, 11 at second base, eight at third base and one each in left and right fields.
"I've never seen anyone that good at that many positions," Bats manager David Bell said (via the Louisville Bats' YouTube channel). "Wherever you put him on the field, there's a chance he's the best player on the field at the position. That goes for every single position on the field -- I haven't seen him catch or play first, but I know he could play first, no problem. That's every position on the field. He makes all the plays. You saw the spectacular play tonight, but he makes all the routine plays. He's a great all-around athlete."
