Chipper Jones

The Braves activated Chipper Jones from the disabled list before Sunday's game with the Blue Jays, sending outfielder Jose Constanza back to Triple-A.

Jones, 40, hadn't played since May 23 after suffering a bruise when he was hit by a one-hopper. Jones had surgery on May 26 to drain a hematoma he developed on the spot of the bruise. He had his stitches removed last week and played in two games for the Braves' low-Class A team in Rome, Ga. He had one hit and two walks in four at-bats for the Rome Braves.

Jones was eligible to come off the disabled list on Friday, but wasn't activated until he played his two minor-league rehab games. He is in the team's lineup on Sunday against the Blue Jays, batting in his customary third spot.
