Video: Trevor Bauer tosses ball to wrong dugout after first career pitch

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer

Heavily-hyped Diamondbacks prospect Trevor Bauer made his major-league debut Thursday night in Atlanta. He wasn't really bad or good, allowing five hits and two earned runs in four innings.

What was notable, however, is that Bauer threw a perfect strike for his first pitch. To commemorate the moment, Bauer gets to keep the ball. And when told to throw it to the dugout, he did ... to the Braves dugout.

Here it is:

I guess he was pretty amped for his first start. Hard to blame him, but he'll certainly be a bit more calm next time he starts.

Still, at least he didn't throw a broken bat at an opposing player and claim he thought it was the ball. It would be ridiculous if someone ever pulled a stunt like that.
