Robinson Cano has selected Prince Fielder, Jose Bautista and Mark Trumbo for the American League Home Run Derby team.

Cano, the defending champion, was this year's captain and was able to pick his team.

Fielder will be in his fourth Home Run Derby. Last season he was the National League captain and he won the contest in 2009. This season, his first in the American League, Fielder has just 12 home runs, the fewest of any member of the AL squad. Ken Griffey Jr. is the only player to win more than one Home Run Derby.

Bautista will be participating in his second derby. He leads the American League with 26 home runs.

The Angels' Trumbo has 20 home runs this season and is appearing in his first All-Star Game.

Texas' Josh Hamilton said he declined an invitation to participate.

National League captain Matt Kemp announced his team of Carlos Beltran, Carlos Gonzalez and Giancarlo Stanton on Sunday.

The derby will take place on July 9 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
