Mets' Francisco aggravates oblique injury

By C. Trent Rosecrans | Blogger

The Mets have shut down closer Frank Francisco after he suffered a recurrence of his left oblique injury in his rehab, Mets manager Terry Collins said (via ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin).

"He just didn't feel right," Collins said (via Rubin).

Francisco hasn't pitched since June 22, when he had his 18th save of the season. He's 1-3 with a 4.87 ERA. Right-hander Bobby Parnell has earned the team's two saves since Francisco was hurt.

Francisco was expected to start a rehab assignment soon.
