The Blue Jays have placed outfielder Jose Bautista on the 15-day disabled list with left wrist inflammation. Bautista was injured Monday night and was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday morning.

The team didn't release any other details on the wrist injury, but it has to be a positive sign that it is being called inflammation, not a strain or tear.

Toronto called up outfield prospect Anthony Gose to take Bautista's place on the roster. Gose, 21, hit .292/.375/.432 with five home runs, 41 RBI and 29 stolen bases for Triple-A Las Vegas. He stole 70 bases last season at Double-A New Hampshire. Gose appeared in the Futures Game in Kansas City, making a diving catch in center field.

Bautista is hitting .244/.360/.534 with 27 home runs and 65 RBI.
