Photo: Pablo Sandoval leaves game with hamstring injury

By Dayn Perry | Baseball Writer

Confession: When I first learned that Pablo Sandoval was forced to depart Tuesday night's tilt against the Padres because of a strained hamstring, I took for granted that Sandoval, who's not exactly known as a citadel of physical conditioning, tweaked it while running the bases in routine fashion or some such. However, this photo, courtesy of The Cove, tells me that I owe Mr. Sandoval an apology for my hasty assumptions ...

Sabdoval Stretch

If I somehow managed to force myself into such a position, then I'd need to be euthanized on the spot.

As for Sandoval, he, as mentioned, was quite understandably forced from the game. That wasn't before he helped complete a terrific double play while manning something other than his usual position.

The slumping Brandon Belt replaced Sandoval in the field and at the plate following the third inning. Sandoval, meanwhile, is surely bound for an MRI.
