Chris Iannetta activated, will catch Zack Greinke's Angel debut

More good news for the Angels, as they've activated catcher Chris Iannetta from the disabled list. Iannetta hasn't played since May 8 because of a broken right wrist.

The move also means that Iannetta will be behind the plate for Zack Greinke's Halo debut on Sunday against the Rays, tweets Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.

On the season, the 29-year-old Iannetta is hitting .197/.312/.394 in 77 plate appearances. Given time and provided he has no lingering effects from the injury, those numbers should improve substantially. In Iannetta's absence, Angel catchers have struggled to provide adequate production.

The Angels have optioned catcher John Hester back to Triple-A Salt Lake in order to make room on the active roster for Iannetta.
