Eric Thames has just become the second Blue Jays outfielder traded in a matter of minutes. He follows Travis Snider out the door, as the Mariners have announced they have acquired Thames from the Jays in exchange for right-handed relief pitcher Steve Delabar.
The interesting twist for the two traded players is that they're only switching locker rooms in the present. The Blue Jays are in Seattle to face the Mariners in a three-game series.
Thames, 25, is hitting .243/.288/.365 with three homers, 11 RBI and 17 runs on the season. He fits for the Mariners as they're looking to stockpile young bats.
Delabar, 29, has a 4.17 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings this season.
