The Giants are talking not only to incumbent Angel Pagan, but also free agents Michael Bourn and Shane Victorino for their open center field position, CBSSports.com Insider Jon Heyman reports.

The team hopes to get one of the three, according to Heyman.

While Bourn is the most costly of the three, the Giants' World Series victory helped produce more payroll flexibility and the team could afford him.

Pagan, 31, hit .288/.338/.440 in 2012, his only season with the Giants. His overall postseason numbers (.188/.230/.348) weren't pretty, but his defense was huge in the team's title run.

Then there's Victorino, who is eight months older than Pagan. Victorino struggled in 2012, hitting .255/.321/.383 with the Phillies and Dodgers. He especially struggled after the move to Los Angeles.

Other teams looking for a center fielder include the Phillies and Reds after the Braves signed B.J. Upton and the Nationals traded for Denard Span.
