Just because: Mike Armstrong's 1983 Topps card

By Dayn Perry | Baseball Writer

Mike Armstrong was a major-league reliever in the 1980s, so it follows that he had a 1983 Topps card produced in his honor. Therein lies the story ...

Observe the cleft chin -- it is the chiseled jawline of a man who can rebuild a Chevy in the span of 16 domestic beers. Mostly, though, appreciate the smoldering countenance featured within the inset. It is the face of a man who, two seconds ago, opted not to take it anymore. It also the face of a man who, two seconds hence, shall begin taking back the streets block by blood-soaked block.

Trifle with Mike Armstrong at your own peril. If you have nowhere left to turn, beseech his awful might.

(HT: Reddit for the reminder of this wondrous card, Baseball Feelings for the image)
