A-Rod releases statement in response to ... something

Perhaps it's in response to all the Biogenesis speculation or perhaps it's in response to the New York Daily News's restraining-order-worthy coverage of his every impluse. Whatever the motivation, hobbled Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has released the following statement:
"Right now I'm dedicating 100% of my energy and focus on my rehabilitation. I am conducting two rehab sessions each and every day in an effort to get back on the field and rejoin my Yankees teammates. I think we have a great team and I want to be a part of it."
Rodriguez, of course, is battling his way back from hip surgery, and even the best-case scenario puts him back on the active roster at some point after the All-Star break. Still, despite the controversy surrounding him and despite his tin-eared instincts, there's no doubting Rodriguez's work ethic. It's easy to doubt a lot that comes out of A-Rod's mouth, but when he says he's "conducting two rehab sessions each and every day," I'm inclined to believe him.
Obligatory: Rodriguez is owed a minimum of $114 million over the next five seasons.
