Podcast: Fantasy position preview -- Relief pitchers
One of the most popular mantras in fantasy leagues is “don't pay for saves.”
Based on the frequency or pitcher injuries, and the amount of turnover at the closer position each year, taking a top-flight reliever can be pretty risky.
Thankfully, the CBSSports fantasy crew is here to tell you whether closers are more important this year, and how you should handle the relief pitcher position in the draft.
Adam Aizer hosts as Nando Di Fino and Scott White tell you which pitchers are ready to break out, and which guys you should avoid. In this episode, the team covers the following:
- How should you handle starting pitchers who also have reliever eligibility, and which pitchers stand to benefit the most in this scenario?
- What is the ideal amount of closers to have in a ROTO league?
- How should you alter your strategy if you miss out on strong relief options?
- They also name their sleepers and busts. Can John Axford bounce back? Should you draft Carlos Marmol or Bruce Rondon?
