Luis Cruz 'lost it,' declines to apologize to Team Canada

By now, most baseball fans have seen the footage of Team Mexico third baseman Luis Cruz motioning to the pitcher to plunk a Canadian hitter, which ended up instigating a major brawl in the World Baseball Classic Saturday afternoon.

Cruz didn't speak about the issue until this quick blurb Monday morning:

That's it? Interesting. Knowing that the Canadians were trying to up their run differential, which is a tiebreaker in the WBC, one would think he'd at least say "yes," when asked if he apologizes. That's pretty weak to avoid the apology, especially since he was given the chance on a silver platter.

We now know that Cruz was also angry about some hard slides from Team Canada, so maybe that's why he won't apologize.
