Vomiting lands Rockies' Josh Outman on DL

Josh Outman

Rockies
left-handed reliever Josh Outman is headed to the disabled list with a strained oblique-- and if you're prone to queasiness, let's just say you can stop reading there.

How did Outman hurt his side? From vomiting. Yes, vomiting.

Here's Rockies manager Jim Tracy (via MLB.com):

"The food poisoning, there was a lot of vomiting and I really believe he strained his oblique," Tracy said. "He's been much better over the last couple of days but he hasn't been able to throw. We haven't been able to get him on the mound. So we're just going to err on the side of caution."

That sounds… painful. Vommiting until you strain a side muscle. That's just awful.

Outman's brother, Zach, said on Twitter that his brother picked up the food poisoning at Denny's -- so make your Grand Slam (or the much funnier Moons Over My Hammy) joke here.
