Chris Young leaves game with shoulder contusion

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer
On the very day that right fielder Justin Upton was sent to a hand specialist, Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young left the game early with a shoulder contusion. It came on a great catch in deep left-center.

The latest update from the D-Backs broadcast is that Young has a right shoulder contusion and he'll have an MRI Wednesday morning. So we'll know more then.

Young, 28, is hitting .410 with five homers, 13 RBI and eight runs scored so far this season for the D-Backs.

With Upton also out of the lineup, the D-Backs' current outfield configuration has Jason Kubel in right field, with Gerardo Parra in center and Willie Bloomquist in left. Bloomquist slid out from shortstop, where John McDonald then took over.
