Rangers acquire Ryan Spilborghs

By Dayn Perry | Baseball Writer
Ryan Spilborghs

In exchange for oft-traded journeyman Cash Considerations, the Rangers have acquired outfielder Ryan Spilborghs from the Indians.

Spilborghs, age 32, has been at Triple-A Columbus this season and has hit .250/.341/.333 in 85 plate appearances. He has more than five seasons of major-league service time, all with the Rockies, but his career batting line outside of Coors Field is just .239/.313/.366. He is, however, capable of playing all three outfield positions.

The Rangers have assigned Spilborghs to Triple-A Round Rock and have not added him to the 40-man roster.
