Brandon Inge placed on disabled list

By Dayn Perry | Baseball Writer
Brandon Inge

A's third baseman Brandon Inge was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained groin, retroactive to May 13, the club announced Thursday morning.

The A's signed Inge on April 30 after the Tigers cut him loose, and he's hit .227/.300/.545 in 50 plate appearances for Oakland. Josh Donaldson will probably see primary duty at third while Inge is out.

As a corresponding move, infielder Adam Rosales was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento.
