Jays to place Brandon Morrow on disabled list

Brandon Morrow

At first report, the strained left of oblique of Jays right-hander Brandon Morrow didn't seem to be serious, but, following the results of an MRI, the team has decided to place Morrow on the 15-day DL. The Canadian Press reports that the Jays will deactivate Morrow on Wednesday and also make a corresponding move at that time.

Toronto's 27-year-old emerging ace, who has always had top-shelf stuff, finally seemed to be enjoying a breakout season (77.2 IP, 3.01 ERA, best walk rate of his career), but now that's on hold.
