MRI shows no damage to Teixeira's wrist

The wrist injury that Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira suffered on Monday night has turned out to be not as serious as initially feared. An MRI on the slugger's left wrist revealed no structural damage, and he's been diagnosed with inflammation.

Teixeira doesn't yet have a timetable for his return to the lineup, but he'll be re-evaluated on Friday. He also missed a handful of games due to left-wrist inflammation back in 2009.

In 98 games this season, Teixeira is batting .256/.337/.493 with 20 homers.
