The Cardinals' team bus may stop at the doctor's office on Friday, as Rafael Furcal and Yadier Molina already have appointments for when the team returns to St. Louis and Lance Berkman may need one, as well, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.
Molina and Furcal were held out of Thursday's game in Colorado, while Berkman's right knee gave out on him in the ninth inning of the 8-2 loss to the Rockies.
Molina suffered a sprained right thumb in the fourth inning of Wednesday's game and is scheduled to have an X-ray done in St. Louis. He stayed in the game Wednesday after suffering the injury, but didn't take batting practice on Thursday.
Furcal has had problems with a stiff back for a week and hasn't played since Monday. He already had an MRI on his lower back, but will see the doctor Friday to see why his back is still bothering him.
Outfielder Shane Robinson was pulled from his game for Triple-A Memphis in Sacramento in the seventh inning, following the injury to Berkman, Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tweeted. Berkman, 36, has played in just 28 games this season between two stints on the disabled list. He had surgery in May to repair a torn meniscus, returning to the field July 14. He's played in 15 games since then, hitting .182/.325/.333 with one home run over that span. This season he's hitting .267/.389/.467 with two home runs.
