Paul Konerko ready for 'light physical activity'

By Matt Snyder | Baseball Writer

White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko is currently on the seven-day disabled list with lingering symptoms from a concussion, but he got good news Monday. Konerko was examined in Chicago and cleared to begin some "light physical activity." (MLB.com)

There is no timetable set for his return.

"I would imagine once he starts doing baseball stuff, [the doctors] will check him to make sure [the concussion symptoms] go away," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said (MLB.com). "Right now, it's slow stuff. Most of it is just rest."

Here's the play that caused Konerko's concussion:

Konerko, 36, is hitting .316/.388/.504 with 18 homers and 54 RBI in 101 games this season. The six-time All-Star is also a well-known clubhouse leader.
