Dale Sveum says Cubs will win World Series ... eventually

Cubs manager Dale Sveum, because he manages the Cubs and because this is 2012, should seemingly not have grounds for unsurpassed confidence. But Dale Sveum is not a Leader of Men because he wilts before the forces of history.

Consider, for example, Sveum's recent words ...

Sveum's apparent bravado raises no fewer than three pressing questions:

1) Will the Cubs, before the demise of baseball and the civilization that houses it, win the World Series again?

2) Should the Cubs win the World Series for the first time since guys who drove a Model T had all the luck, will Dale Sveum still be on this "mortal coil," let alone in the Cubs' dugout?

3) Should the Cubs finally reclaim belt and title, would it be "the biggest event in sports history"?

Readers, what do you say?

Manny Acta, what do you say?

Um, no
