Roy Oswalt will have a temporary return to the Rangers' rotation, as Ryan Dempster will leave the team for this weekend's series in Toronto due to what the team is calling personal reasons.

Dempster has been placed on the Restricted List, but is expected to return to the team on Monday when the team starts as series at home against the Orioles.

The right-hander has made three starts for the Rangers since being traded at the deadline from the Cubs. Dempster is 1-1 with a 8.31 ERA in those three starts.

Oswalt is 4-2 with a 6.53 ERA in nine games and six starts since joining the Rangers in June. Oswalt was pushed to the bullpen when the Rangers acquired Dempster and voiced his displeasure over the move.

Texas called up outfielder Leonys Martin to replace Dempster on the roster for this weekend. Martin appeared in 15 games for the Rangers last month, hitting .189/.250/.405 in 41 plate appearances.
