The Tigers won the Thursday's afternoon tilt against the Blue Jays in 11 innings. Had it not been for the amazing range of center fielder (and, yes, absurd All-Star snub) Austin Jackson, the Tigers may have not made it to the 11th.
With the go-ahead run on second base in the top of the 10th, Anthony Gose sent a liner into the right-center gap. It would have been extra bases and a 3-2 Blue Jays lead against most teams. But not this one ...
Even though he's overshadowed, in terms of national name recognition, by Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander and Prince Fielder on that ballclub, Jackson should garner significant MVP attention. He's hitting .312/.393/.502 with 13 homers, eight triples, 10 steals and is one of baseball's best defensive players.
