Alex Rodriguez likely to return to Yankee lineup on Monday

Alex Rodriguez is just about ready to return to game action. (Getty Images) Insider Danny Knobler passes along word that, according to Yankees manager Joe Girardi, third baseman Alex Rodriguez should be back in the lineup on Monday.

Rodriguez has been out since breaking his hand on July 24, the result of being struck by a Felix Hernandez pitch.

On the season, Rodriguez is hitting .276/.358/.449 with 15 home runs. While those numbers are down from his usual levels, that's still good production in what's been a down year for offense.

With 644 career homers, Rodriguez is presently fifth on the all-time list.
