Wednesday night at the Marlins-Brewers game in Miami, a young girl sitting in the second row really wanted to get a baseball. She demonstratively showed as much throughout the game. Then, as Norichika Aoki ran toward the Brewers dugout late in the game, he very clearly threw a ball toward her. Before the ball got to her, however, an unbelievably oblivious (I'll assume oblivious, because otherwise he's just a jerk) adult snagged it instead.
All's well that ends well, I guess, since she got her ball. It just astounds me how much adults care about grabbing a baseball at the expense of children. No, I don't want kids to feel entitled to get things like a baseball at a game, but it's even worse when adults intercept a ball clearly intended for the child.
