Future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer Chipper Jones is in the midst of his final season, and to pay tribute teams all over baseball have been lavishing him in gifts. This weekend, though, brings his highly anticipated final trip to CitiField. While the dear, departed Shea Stadium was staging area to many of Jones's classic moments, it's Citi that now houses the Mets -- Chipper's opponent of opponents in so many senses.

What the Mets and their fans will do to honor their conquering villain remains to be seen, but one New York City institution is taking the bold of step of rebranding itself in honor of Jones' final trip to Queens as a player.

Foley's NY -- a classic, old tavern, rich with baseball trappings and home to the Irish-American Baseball Hall of Fame -- will, for the entirety of the three-game set, change its name to this ...

They'll also be serving chips 10 different ways in honor of Jones' jersey digits. The proprietors note:

Sometimes you have to tip your cap to your opponent. There are few opponents in recent memory who have been as successful as Chipper Jones a visiting player in New York City. While Chipper has broken the hearts of many Mets fans over the years, New Yorkers are as knowledgeable as anyone and they know greatness when they see it -- even when it resulted in disappointment for their hometown team.

Give him all the surfboards and cowboy hats and framed portraits you want, but what beats having a drinking establishment named after you? Nothing, the people say.

For his career, Chipper is a .314/.410/.553 hitter against the Mets and boasted a batting line of .313/.407/.557 in Shea. In Citi, however, the magic has withered, as Jones has managed a slash line of just .208/.308/.377.
