If you're a Yankees fan, what CBSSports.com Insider Danny Knobler reports may not be to your liking.

On Saturday night, Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira returned to the lineup for the first time since Aug. 27. Now he's headed for an MRI on the injured left calf that has troubled him for some time.

Pain flared up following Saturday night's controversial play at first base, although Teixeira said his calf didn't feel right all night. "I thought it was just tight, but obviously it was still healing," Teixeira said. "I thought I could play at 80 percent. I couldn't."

Knobler reports Teixeira told Yankees manager Joe Girardi that was his calf was sore but not quite back to square one in terms of severity. Still, Knobler reports there's definite concern within the organization about Teixeira's status.

The bottom line is that Teixeira is out again, and it's uncertain when he's going to return. While, with less than a month remaining in the regular season, it's possible Teixeira is done, he's indicated that's a "worst, worst-case scenario."

This season, the 32-year-old first baseman is hitting .255/.336/.478 with 23 homers and 27 doubles, in addition to providing plus defense at the position. Needless to say, he'll be missed. Again.
