A's, Tigers set pitching matchups for Games 1 and 2

The A's and Tigers have announced their chosen starters for Games 1 and 2 of the ALDS. Here's how the pitching matchups will break down:

Game 1 @ DET: Jarrod Parker vs. Justin Verlander
Game 2 @ DET: Tommy Milone vs. Doug Fister

The Tigers have decided to push Max Scherzer back to a potential Game 4 to allow his shoulder some extra rest. Anibal Sanchez would start Game 3 in Oakland, and Verlander would go again in the deciding Game 5 should the series make it that far.

As for the A's, it's not certain how they'll arrange the rotation once the series shifts back to Oakland. It seems likely that Brett Anderson, who's almost recovered from an oblique injury, will be penciled in for Game 3 or 4.
