While there has been plenty of talk about Jason Giambi's interview with the Rockies, the team is still talking to other candidates -- including former Mets manager Jerry Manuel.

According to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post, Manuel, Pete Mackanin and Matt Williams have also interviewed for the Rockies job in addition to the previously reported Giambi, Walt Weiss and bench coach Tom Runnells.

Manuel, 58, was the White Sox manager from 1998-2003 and managed the Mets from 2008-10. The American League Manager of the Year in 2000, Manuel has a 704-684 record in nine seasons s a manager.

Mackanin, 61, has twice served as an interim manager -- for the Pirates in 2005 and the Reds in 2007. He has a 53-53 overall record, going 12-14 with the Pirates and 41-39 with the Reds. He spent the last four seasons as the Phillies' bench coach, but his contract was not renewed.

Williams, 46, has spent the last three seasons on the Diamondbacks' coaching staff.

Other names still seen as possibilities, according to Saunders, are Sandy Alomar Jr., Brad Ausmus, Mike Gallego and Tim Wallach.
