Hiroyuki Nakajima hearts Billy Beane

As you are no doubt aware, Japanese shortstop Hiroyuki Nakajima recently inked a two-year pact with the A's. What persuaded Nakajima to accept Oakland's offer? Was it the promise of regular playing time? Was it their standing as AL West champs? Was it the redeemable U.S. currency? Or was it something else ...

Scientists have proved that the charms of A's GM Billy Beane are both boundless and without bound, so that those charms have spellbound Nakajima to such an extent is hardly surprising.

I suppose it's possible he's thinking of Brad Pitt.
