Considering how reluctant some players are to participate (and how readily some teams discourage their players from playing), this isn't bad at all. The outfield is going to put some runs on the board, and the front of the bullpen is similarly strong. Also, there's nothing wrong with a one-two rotation punch of R.A. Dickey and Kris Medlen. All in all, it's pretty impressive hootenanny.
In the first round, the U.S. will be pooled with Canada, Mexico and Italy with two of those teams advancing to the second round. The U.S. will begin play on March 8 against Mexico.
