Regardless of how the Dodgers' high-salaried players fare on the field this coming season, Dodger Stadium easily has the best promotional calendar in the majors. We've already praised their bobblehead giveaways -- seriously, flag-saving Rick Monday bobblehead! -- and now there's this:
In celebration of Jackie Robinson's birthday, here's your first look at the Robinson, Newcombe and Campanella Statue: twitter.com/Dodgers/status…— Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) January 31, 2013
That statue of Hall of Famers Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella, along with Cy Young and MVP winner Don Newcombe, will be the giveaway April 15, when the Dodgers square off against the Padres.
Once again, well done, Dodgers promotional braintrust. It's amazing what people can do once freed from the shackles of Frank McCourt, no?
[Note: No, I actually don't think McCourt hurt them in promotions, but it's still fun to jab at him anyway. He deserves it.]
