Mariano Rivera isn't ready to reveal his plans for 2014

At this time last year, Yankees closer Mariano Rivera was teasing fans about his future beyond the upcoming season. He never did announce whether he was planning to retire -- there were strong indications he was -- before suffering a season-ending knee injury in mid-May, which may have changed his mind. No one wants to go out like that.

Rivera, 43, is healthy and again ready to begin what might be the final season of his Hall of Fame career. I say might because, once again, he's not telling anyone his plans.

Rivera did go on to tell reporters he will let everyone know before opening day whether he's planning to retire following this season. I'm guessing he'll retire -- just because it seems like a guy coming off a major injury at that age wouldn't make a final decision to continue his career without first seeing how he felt during the grind of the regular season.

Either way, the Yankees will go into the season knowing they have Rivera for at least one more run at the World Series.
